Are most chalices turn end grain? They want these fairly large (6" top opening) so it might be difficult to find a dry piece of wood that large.

This is my last commission piece and the cost of the wood was significant since it is a large piece for Red Mallee. Sure was a lot more tense than using free wood. This stuff is sure hard. LOTS of trips to the grinder!
