Thanks for all that information especially about the buses! We're only staying the one night and coming home the following day so I don't think the Oyster card would be of use to us this time but it's good advice for future ventures to London

We're staying at the Queens Park Hotel in Bayswater which is part of a hotel and ticket deal and we're travelling down from Scotland by Megabus and Easyjet to keep costs down but it still all mounts up! As none of us has ever been in London before I'm looking for advice on good cheap pubs in the area

My mental image of you doesn't fit well with the Bayswater. And your arguments for ebaying it are good- don't hold onto s/t just for iconic value if you don't really use it- you'll resent lugging it half way round the world

Hi Brian What sort of bad things were said about Bayswater? We went with them because a friend recommended them and he's not one to suffer fools gladly! We've never had a problem with them - I used to call them from the UK to book the cars and the cars were always clean and reliable

Stirling Mayor David Booth-man and Swan Mayor Charlie Zannino condemned the actions of the City of Bayswater which they said failed to consult its residents and surrounding councils before submitting ideas for local government amalgamations at the end of last month.. Both mayors slammed Bayswater's tactics and argued the boundary proposals were not logical and would not be effective
