Arthur Anderson Homes which he built for the widows of Sailors and Arthur Anderson High School.. The ship is docked in the Industrial part of the port so we checked on our options which included a shuttle to the City Center or a Hop On Hop Off bus with a recorded "tour." The season for the Hop On Hop Off bus actually ends on September 30; however they are running this bus on any day a cruise

Beaumont / Port Arthur area - hundreds of acres of federal camps already built on large-scale detention camp design complete with the double rows of chain link fencing with razor type concertina wire on top of each row

Thanks for the comments everyone. :) iberg Port Arthur was wonderful to visit.. It is so much more than the penetentiary building.(I didn't realise how many buildings there are there) They have been and still are doing some restoration work.. Jellicle as I wandered around Port Arthur I did now and then remember Martin Bryant and what happened when he went nuts

Starting with the garden club she was instrumental in the survival of several buildings of historical note in Easton.. Her most recent victory came just last year as she successfully fought to save 925 Port St.. one of the earliest buildings in Easton

Hi Ladylawyer888 We are on same cruise as you and also wondering what to do in downtown Hobart. I have been to Pt Arthur many times so am looking for something different this time round.. However the drive to Pt Arthur is very scenic and the actual site is very interesting...lots of walking which doesnt bother me.. The wharf area Salamanca the Battery etc is very nice with the added historic buildings. We were thinking of just getting a small 3 hr tour of Hobart and surrounds mainly to get some nice pics then heading back for a look/see of Battery and Salamanca.. Have decided not to hire a car in this port but for someone that hasnt been there before driving around would be very easy and uncongested

But still under these circumstances the port was kept open and stayed fully operational while it was raining bombs.. The death toll was 567 casualties to soldiers and civilians 291 injured and 11 buildings were destroyed

my meeting the discouraging pastor (around October 1982) and the Moslems flying a couple of planes into a couple of buildings (9/11) then what are the odds of the others happening? Will they not happen or is it simply the case they haven't happened yet ? The old pastor whom he predicted I'd meet was also prophetic.. He predicted the second Gulf War; the massacre at Port Arthur (Australian massacre in 1996); that I'd be doing a cleaning job wouldn't do it for long but that the Lord "would just want me to hear about a ghost" (despite the strangeness that happened in 2006 when I was being shown a building in Ipswich

Houses crushed buildings demollished trees down wires in the street etc .... (Beaumont yes Port Arthur No) I can't tell you how many places I've went to for lunch only to find they are still closed
