Re: Price for the Grand Canyon Skywalk?

It costs $43 for the Legacy pass that you must purchase as you go through the gates. Then for adults it is $30 to walk on the Sky Walk.. In May I rafted the Grand Canyon. As we floated past the Sky Walk the guide pointed it out to us.. It's actually not over the Grand Canyon. It hangs out over a side canyon

post33590012] From what I could tell the views you get from the South Rim are just as spectacular as what you will see from the Sky Walk.. (And it's much less expensive! $25 per car.) Unless you want to see the canyon under your feet I would recommend sticking to the traditional view

Re: Evening Canyon Shot ...

This helps keep the image visually more toward evening light (which is when it was shot) and help convey the canyon context.. (?) Very nice lightning and evening colors! Interesting could these red tail-ligths (and sky redness at furthermost edge) amplified by some gradiental mask? > In the second one here I desaturated it just at the level to keep the red of the taillights.. A truer blue sky I think but a colder image.. Not like evening (too cold lightning) but imho canyon effect is stronger

Looks like you pushed fill light quite a bit (sky and building corners).. If you weren't hand-held it might have been better to do two exposures - one for the sky and one for the street and then blend them

I don't understand the recommendation about the Starry Sky option. This is intended for taking pictures of (surprise) a starry sky at night with exposures of 15 seconds or longer

I try and take advantage of the area that I live in with the clean air and crystal clear sky. The shot I want and hope to get is a thunder/lighting storm on full moon at the river with lighting traveling from the top of the sky to the bottom

Thanks Joe. Armando I think that streak in the sky is from an airplane that had flown over a few minutes before and the white streak it left is slowly falling apart

I have not lived in Big Sky per se but have worked many many years there in a couple different capacities. Both Bozeman and Big Sky have their own brand of social and cultural interaction.. About the road I'll offer a possibly unpopular opinion about Gallatin Canyon 191. I've got I don't know how many thousands and thousands of trips up and down in all kinds of weather mostly heavy truck a little car and motorcycle time.. Worse in the canyon?...sometimes

I'm wondering how often I will NEED to go into Bozeman? I'm all for large Costco trips twice a month but the idea of the 191 makes me nervous

Camping at Sheep Canyon Jan 23-24

If anyone is interested I am heading out to Sheep Canyon with a friend and his family Jan 23-24 to camp out.. We are still firming up tha plans but will probably head out there mid-morning on the 23rd run up lower Coyote Canyon and set up camp at Sheep Canyon before hiking up some of the canyons to check out the waterfalls.. If the sky is clear that night I am going to try my hand at some night photography and try and capture some star trails

Cortez Colorado - Sand Canyon
15:17 22-Nov-09
By: Bikeabout
In Cortez the MTBR rumors were that Phil's World might be muddy. That was our target trail. But the back-up trail was Sand Canyon so we rode that.. After a chilly morning the day was warm and the sky was vibrant blue though snow feathered the north side of Sleeping Ute Mountain way across the valley.. We climbed the main Sand Canyon wide-track passed a nice ancient alcove ruin stonework walls built high into the canyon wall - really cool to be able to ride near such historical features on a mountain bike
