And unless you re really desperate to get your kids to drink milk skip those candy-flavored single-serve bottles of milk.. Sold under the name Slammers they come in Moon Pie 3 Musketeers Milky Way and Starburst flavors.. Q: What s the deal with that milk that comes in unrefrigerated cartons? Is it regular milk? A: Milk marked UHT (for ultra high temperature) simply undergoes a different method of pasteurization and is heated to much higher temperatures.. Q: Speaking of cartons which type of milk container is the most environmentally friendly: paper plastic or glass? A: The answer pretty much comes down to two things: which type you can recycle in your area and how much fossil fuel is used for transporting it

Our milkman comes late at night-around midnight/1 am.. The only problem we've had is if nobody has gone down to get the milk first thing (we have a long drive) we sometimes find that the lids have been pecked open by birds or squirrels.. Supermarket milk is cheaper but I like the convenience of having a doorstep delivery as well as glass bottles so there is less waste going into the bin

I get milk delivered yes it's more expensive but I know I will have it. Local shops have had no milk when I have been in for the last week or so.. If anything mine comes earlier when bad weather is forecast through the night

Anyway the best ricotta comes from sheep's milk but that one is a different story =) I've always found that the ricotta made from cow milk is tasteless

It comes in two forms here: the dry noodle type which can be bought at convenience stores for some 20 or so pesos; however that kind is laden with monosodium glutamate (MSG) and sodium so even if it's cheap I try to steer clear of that whenever I can.. There's also the fresh noodle kind called miki which can be purchased at market-places but they cost more since they're whole wheat.. A half-kilo of fresh miki would cost some 30 or so pesos (equal to a kilo of rice) due to the fact that they're made from (according to the producers) whole wheat

Our baby had reflux so we have seen our share of milk coming back at us - LOL! Our baby still throws up a lot has he has asthma and coughs a lot and his milk is hardly curdled when it comes back up.. Many times it comes back out the same way it went in - I guess I will disagree with most of the posters above who say it always comes out curdled as it definitely doesn't with our son.. Our kids drink cold fresh milk at WDW all of the time as well as fresh water and juice as it keeps them hydrated and so even if they were to throw it back up I would never assume it was the heat at all

Yes it may be true actually and I'll tell you why... Store bought milk from huge dairy operations has been heated so high so as to kill any bacteria in the filth blood piss and feces that may be in the milk.. The pasteurization (heat) is a "license to sell dirty milk".. fresh milk from the dairy that has not been pasteurized is much better for you as it comes from small dairies that are able to clean and disinfect each cow's skin before attaching the milking machine.. People that are lactose intolerant and can't drink (store bought) milk find that fresh dairy milk can be enjoyed! Also because the cow is eating organic grasses and is not fed pesticides hormones etc

It might not be as much fun but you could also try dropping in a fresh oil filter if you simply MUST do something to your vehicle(s) every 6 weeks.. Kicking back with some fresh baked cookies and a cold can of juice/milk/soda might be just the trick

Outside our (French) supermarket is a new milk machine. It's owned (rented?) by a local farmer who fills it up every day with fresh raw (unpasturised) milk.. Plastic bottles are available but you can use your own container.. It comes complete with a large plastic cow that moos at you I have seen children try to milk it! (not 'my' one but the one at Montauban actually has a facebook page!) I think that are pros and againsts.. Pro: local few 'food miles' no 'middle' man so farmer gets more money milk very fresh ? no processing including pasturisation

The salad was a great value at $2.25. The lettuce was fresh and crisp the dressing enhanced but did not overpower the salad and the pita bread was the perfect accompaniment.. Kenny save some for everyone else Cabernet Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes Chocolate Milk Creme Brûlée Sparkling Pomegranate Kir No picture of the short ribs but they were outstanding with a very tasty sauce

Maybe it has to do with how far the milk is shipped and how it is stored at the grocery store? Are you sure your fridge is keeping things cold enough - do you have a separate thermometer in it to check? Try different brands? Fresh milk here usually last 5-6 days (if it's not all drank first) - most of this milk comes from farms in state

Its great we can get milk at this price but it does make me sad that farmers aren't getting paid a good price for it.. After all milk is a fresh natural and nuturious product.. when it comes to non branded milk the processors have a set number of farmers who supply them with whatever amount of milk they want or can but they get it at a lesser price so the farmer in this instance would end up with the same money but for more milk produced

Here is my recipe for Fresh Pumpkin Pie...I make mine right from the Pumpkin... You will need... 2 cups Fresh cooked Pumpkin 2 large Eggs 3/4 cup Sugar 1 tsp.Cinnamon 1/2 tsp.Cloves 1/2 tsp.Ginger 1 2/3 cup Carnation Evaporated Milk Mix well and pour into pie shells...Bake at 325 for appr.. 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean..

The 98 cent packs are a blessing!:) Have you tried the big milk chocolate bars with almonds yet? OMGosh! I got them as stocking stuffers last Dec.- when they were on sale for $2 and I've never looked back! Now they are $4 but WORTH EVERY PENNY! BEST EVER! By FAR!:) To me it seems the most "name brand" variety comes from in the aisles - and the freezer section
