Decent pub with good food in Heathrow area?

My brother and I are going to a funeral in Ashford (Middx) this week and he's suggested going for a beer and lunch afterwards problem is we are both at a loss to think of anywhere in the Ashford Feltham Staines area - it's all a bit of a desert round

London -> LA goes over the pole so there's not a lot ot see the other route would give you a good view of the entire US assuming you get a window seat and it isnt cloudy/night

Just as regards personal comfort I like to break up those long flights so i'd take a stopoff in Atlanta rather than heathrow however its a trade because the flights will take longer

i don't think this is the right board so sorry if it's not. on 12th april my family and i are flying to new york from heathrow and then sailing back on QM2 back to southampton.. we through the best way to do it was to park the car at southampton and get train/coach/bus to heathrow terminal 5 so then when we get off the ship a week or so later we can just drive home

We are getting a transfer from Southampton to the airport upon disembarakation but don't leave Heathrow until the next morning at 10. We were looking at the Jurys Inn as a possibility too but my father who is travelling with my husband and I wondered about getting rooms right at the airport (Terminal 3?) because he thinks it would be more convenient
