Due to the mist/storm that surrounds the core sun you could get away with some daily light and weather patterns clouds and rain etc.. There might be weather prediction based solely on trying to read the formation that surrounds the core sun. There might even be a really rare phenomenon where there is hardly any cover and the core sun can shine through but I'd make this extreme near blinding for the inhabitants ferociously hot etc.. The belief that getting through the storm that surrounds the core sun will tell them just what their world is
