Agreed...VERY nice photos. The blue color cast is reflected light from above the sky. If you take a picture of say green grass or foliage with a bright blue sky it won't look as green as when taken with a thin overcast sky

Stunning! Recently drove I-81 through W. Va. Just beautiful about the prettiest interstate in the U.S. In the third picture the sky is amazing but the snow has a blue color cast.. How can this be corrected without taking away from the spectacular sky? Carter

post5769462] the 4th (last) picture... I find the city lights is more interesting than the sky. But I think your focus was more on the sky right? Actually I wanted to show both the city lightings and part of the sky but because there is reeling i hv to omit some of the city lightings and thus showing more of the sky..

post5771286] Ya agree with wildcat that you tend to focus more on the sky. You also tends to shoot from high ground.. And also you may like to consider more of the foreground than the sky. An example from night86mare's paranomic work -> Paris My Love [http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5697436&postcount=2] You may also like to explore the use of digital blending (post processing) using bracketing (on site) to reveal

Re: Over-exposed faces during sunset

Posting an example will help. Sunsets are a bit hard to shoot harder than anyone would imagine (certainly as there are that many good sunset shots form P&S cameras 8-S ) Problem is that someone has to decide what you want: * do you want the golden shine to be apearent? Then your WB should be on Daylight and not Auto as the camera might want to try and compensate the reddish light.. * Do you want the sky to look as it does during the day? This is what a camera would expect * Do you want the sky to look as colorfull as you see it? Then you probably have to underexpose the sky-metering.. and *as no-one decides the camera will decide* what works allright in 'normal conditions' but a sunset is not a normal condition

You have exposed for the foreground and the sky has blown out.. After the sun has set and is no-longer shining directly on your subject the difference between the brightness of the sky and the ground can get to be rather extreem very quickly

The sky's light grey anyway so who cares about that but it would be nice to see some colours and so forth on the rider's clothes as well as the bike.. Making the road clearly visible doesn't add anything to the picture and the sky's already dull & washed up enough as it is

Well first off I would say that the sky look absolutely amazing. Now there is however an abundance of images of just a supercool looking sunset sky. Composition and foreground is what is going to make such an image stand out to me.. An sunset sky in its own will rarely move me a lot it is always amazing to see but you do IMHO need a little more to make it work as an image

I just love how you processed the sunset sky here.. IMHO to make a great image you need something more than just a beautiful sky you need context.. Sunset skies like that are too amazing not to be part of an amazing image
