Finally I was released from the EFM and Evan and I walked the halls of the birth center stopping for every contraction so I could kneel and rest against the railings on the wall.. I am so grateful that I was able to give birth without augmentation or pain medication

Birth Plan for an Intervention free/natural birth
13:56 16-Dec-09
By: dani arnold
During this pregnancy and my previous ones I've had several people ask me about birth plans and what to put into one.. Of course it all depends on what YOU'RE planning for your birth. What do you want? what do you need? what are your feelings on topics like inductions epidurals episiotomies C/S's positioning for pushing eating during labour doula or no doula midwife or OB.... I am a natural childbirth advocate and have been through every aspect of birth from a wonderful natural homebirth with midwives to a horrifying Caesarean Section that left me almost crippled for over 8 weeks..I have an addiction to the subject of childbirth and have read just about every study and birthing book out there ROTF! Anyway My birth plan is -obviously- a natural intervention free birthing plan

But my labor pattern was super funky (it seemed like I was in good labor and then it just backed off...a HELLISH ctx every hour or so for about 10 hours and then out of nowhere I hit transition).. It was an easy but confusing birth after the textbook labor and birth I'd had with my first baby

in almost every post in this thread everyone seems to care about the rights of poor man but very few are concerned about the child whose whole life is at stake guys we are talking about another human being a different individual different personality.and we are not talking.. food and shelter every one looks at the goverment to solve the issue and by that sense even mentally challenged people have the right to have kids and our goverment should look at their upbringing

Only given birth in Italy (south) Very very medicalised gynae visits every month wth blood/urine tests/toxo/and lots of other things I can't remember.. (well it doesn't in theory but everyone goes the semi-private route ie paying for everything except the actual birth and hospital stay because apparently they lead you to believe you're queueing in a yard just to get seen otherwise) Hgh rate of c-secs (45-60% depending on hospital)No question of homebirth no question of not breastfeeding no bf counsellors etc they

DD1 here and DD2 Belgium. Both elective sections both 'good' births as far as I was concerned. In UK saw different MW on practically every pre-natal visit/check-up (but all nice) in Belgium saw the same ob-gynae I was booked in for birth with didn't have to wait as long for appointments.. Had far more tests in Belgium - toxiwotsit every month (wasn't immune) cystic fibrosis carrier status (actually shocked they don't do this here) GBS at 36 weeks scan of section scar at 30 weeks to check likelihood of rupture.. Post birth care not as systematic - no automatic MW or HV visits although you can sign up for them via mutuelle/Flemish child health organisation

I know women in Australia who birth at free-standing birth centres where water birth is "not allowed" - they take their own plug for the tub and when pushing begins tell the midwife if she touches their property (the plug) there will be serious legal implications! LOL.. Another option is to say after every pushing contraction "ok i'll get out in the next gap" at the end of one gap and then "oh i'm so tired i need to rest a second" in the next one (and rest until another contraction starts)..birth support person can warm up and change over every few moments) is an optional extra for the not-too-warm room

That sounds like a plan Paquerette! We obviously share the same high-brow viewing tastes. I can't believe I was even contemplating giving birth without an eject button! Gobecgo - I love this suggestion! Another option is to say after every pushing contraction "ok i'll get out in the next gap" at the end of one gap and then "oh i'm so tired i need to rest a second" in the next

If I had a dime for every time I heard "as long as the baby is healthy" but what about ME! What about the health of any future pregnancies? Any law written by a MAN will not have my best interest in mind partly because men can't understand labor or delivery and partly
