Re: How much $ do you budget for your kids for Christmas?

Birthdays: The kids get $50-$75. Usually 2 gifts. Even though I have a 9 year old and as she gets older we will stick with the same amount.. She knows she's special to us and we don't feel we need to go all out for her birthday.. We have birthday parties for with her friends one night and the next night is with family.. We buy 1-2 gifts for xmas eve 2 gifts plus stocking from santa and we may buy a joint gift for the family but not every year.. This year they'll all get a tv/dvd 19" for the playhouse my father-in-law built.. (It's almost like a small guest house even though it's only 10x10 with a 5x7 loft)

This is a really tough issue for me....I have always liked this idea and we always have tried to do something of the sort.. Mostly we've set up a bag of items for each kid-stickers craft books small gifts etc-for the purpose of them having something new to explore while I'm in labor..I always try to make birthdays pretty special....we don't always have a party (with a guest list) but I always make them a special decorated cake decorate the house plan a special meal gifts etc....

Then his friends went home and left Conrad alone for this was the happiest day he had known.. But he knew with the Lord as his Christmas Guest this Christmas would be the dearest and best

Failure to book at this time (for instance a cruise booked 60 days before sailing) is likely to result in lack of availability of bookings.. The concierge holds ressies for guests in suites so that even if they choose to make ressies after boarding those ressies will be available for them.. Does it hurt the experience of a concierge guest that there are a few more people in that group? Perhaps...so maybe boarding group 1 should be concierge and group 2 should be platinum.. boards first and didn't pay for that benefit? I received the concierge gifts when my DD told "Rona" at the Golden Mickeys that it was our 13th (I think) cruise and I was celebrating my 50th birthday on the cruise

If you are concierge and perhaps booked late or didn't book your excursions Palo etc for whatever reason I have always been told that there are reservations that are held for concierge guests that first day to reserve.. While not every guest is going to want to use every option available the extra services are there

Quote: And I never heard of thank you notes for presents given (does this mean no note would be handed out/sent if someone happened to come without present-sorry if I misunderstood?) .. The kids coming to the party are happy/grateful to be invited so they feel as much as to say 'thank you for the party!' as we feel like thanking them for coming.. I do not see it necessary to specially send my thanks to someone for bringing a present I mean someone just being our guest is enough to be thankful about (also with perspective on presents not being obligatory but it's just something most people like to do)? whenever we do a party we end a thank you note to everyone

I'd rather the girls open their gifts without distraction so they can truly appreciate the nice things their friends have given them..someone-most don't even know who it's from) and grab for the next one.. post14577765] As a guest yeah it can be a little boring but part of being a good guest is dealing with a party that's not YOUR ideal and is more about the guest of honor.. Someone went to a lot of trouble to feed and entertain you the least you can do is ooh and ahh over the gifts. I made a comment about it being boring earlier but I meant specifically for such a large amount of gifts which would likely take an exceptionally long time to open.. IME that can get sort of rough for everyone involved even the guest of honor and especially the other kids

"Also in lieu of receiving our thank you cards we would like to thank everyone for the lovely cards and gifts that people bought for us - we had a lot of fun opening everything and much appreciate everyone's generosity and kindness and best wishes for our married life together." Thats the key statement for me - i don't think your.. cards which we will send out shortly we would like to thank everyone for the lovely cards and gifts that people bought for us" Thats what i THINK she meant...otherwise why mention Receiving thank you cards? Obviously the bride just hasn't got her thank you cards yet and as she doesnt want snotty people to get all arsey cos they havent received
