I want to upgrade my ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 before upgrading to 10.04. Now I open up the update manager but there is no notification or "upgrade" button for me to upgrade my system

I am currently breaking a 2003 laguna estate it has xenon headlamps - I bought another laguna same year at auction a few weeks back but it has normal headlamps - can I swap the headlamps over with no problems? or is it not worth the hassle? regards Marty
